Hapé & Sanaga ceremony

Hapé & Sanaga ceremony

November 17 - 6:00 PM
3 hours
Bankastræti 2, 101 Reykjavik

We warmly invite you to join us for an evening with Amazonian medicines, Rapé and Sananga and Txanas, the carriers of the living tradition of the Huni Kuin's tribe from Brazil. Txanas are the messengers of the jungle, sharing the healing vibration of the forest through their songs and their joyful, loving presence. They will serve the medicines and infuse them with their healing prayers. Rapé is a blend of sacred tobacco and the ashes of various medicinal plants, ground into a fine powder, and administered through the nostrils. It purifies the mind and body by removing stagnant energies. It has a grounding effect, calming the mind and bringing it to the present moment, while also activating the intuition and inner guidance. Sananga is a liquid eye drop used by Indigenous Amazonian tribes made by grating, soaking and cooking the roots and bark of the Tabernaemontana undulata shrub. As well as improving eyesight, Sananga clears emotional and spiritual stagnation, bringing clarity, and resetting the nervous system, while enhancing intuition and inner vision. Txanas will have Rapé, Sananga, Kuripe, Tepi and traditional Huni Kuin jewellery for sale, so if you would like to support their work and buy the medicines and their art craft, please bring cash, preferably euros. Any additional support is greatly appreciated and goes directly towards covering the expenses of their journey to Iceland and supporting their village.
