🌱 HÃPAYA BAPTISM 🌱 A rare opportunity to receive the traditional Hãpaya baptism of the Huni Kuin people, guided by Biruany and Maxi Huni Kuin. Hãpaya is a sacred pepper baptism traditionally connected with strengthening the voice, memory, communication and the ability to learn and carry songs. Within Huni Kuin tradition, it is especially connected to the Txana, a bird of the Amazon Rainforest known for its remarkable ability to imitate the songs of other birds. For the Huni Kuin, the Txana carries a deep relationship with voice and song. Its spirit is associated with remembering chants, strengthening the voice and developing clearer expression and communication. The Hãpaya baptism is traditionally used by those learning sacred songs and prayers, helping deepen the relationship between voice, memory and ancestral knowledge. 🌱 THE BAPTISM 🌱 During the gathering, Biruany and Maxi will share teachings around Hãpaya, the Txana and the role of song within Huni Kuin culture.
