Cacao & Womb Wisdom – A Mayan Women’s Ceremony

Cacao & Womb Wisdom – A Mayan Women’s Ceremony

October 11 - 5:00 PM
3 hours
Bankastræti 2, 101 Reykjavik

In this gathering, we will explore the theme “The Body as a Sacred Temple” according to the ancestral wisdom passed down by the grandmothers of the Mayan Commission. The workshop will include practices and exercises focused on each part of the female body, with special attention to menstrual cycle care and preparation for the premenopausal stage. One of the central topics will be “The Impact of Uterine Imbalances”—which often manifest as infertility, cysts, fibroids, and various types of menstrual cramps. We will also explore the emotions connected to postpartum and postnatal care—essential themes for women in their fertile years as well as those in postmenopause—since the womb’s energy remains ever-present, even when one no longer ovulates or physically carries a uterus. This circle offers an opportunity to reconnect with the womb and to understand the importance of its energy, regardless of which stage of life each woman is in. Through the teachings of the Mayan midwives, we will receive guidance on caring for both the physical body and the spiritual well-being—planting the sacred seed of self-care. This is a call to all women to join this circle of wisdom and healing—to strengthen the bond with their inner being and to honor the ancestral tradition that celebrates the integral health of women.
