Authentic Movement is a form of expressive movement therapy, developed by Mary Starks Whitehouse, that explores the relationship between the mover and the witness through movement and inner awareness. It involves a mover with eyes closed, guided by internal impulses, and a witness who observes and reflects on the experience without judgment. This practice aims to access unconscious material, foster self-awareness, and promote healing through embodied experience.
